A Day at The Ashram will be your day to retreat in nature and expand deeper into your spiritual practice (sadhana). Experience the sacred connection of community as we delve into the 4 paths of yoga (Karma, Bhakti, Raja, Jnana) through chanting, puja, pranayama, asana, meditation, selfless service, and relaxation. A healthy vegetarian meal will be served for lunch with time to explore the beautiful breathtaking 70-acre property buried in the hillside of the incredible Niagara Escarpment. Facilitated by Shonna Annapurna Brown & John William Bauld (Maha Deva) with Special Guest Ram Vakkalanka. See you at the Ashram – Om Namah Sivaya.

11:00 am – Opening Puja with Ram Vakkalanka
11:45 am – Meditation & Pranayama
12:00pm – 1:00pm – Asana
1:00pm – 2:30pm Lunch/ Relaxation / Karma Service
2:30pm – 4:30pm Chanting/ Kirtan
4:30pm – 5:00pm Closing Meditation

Ram Vakkalanka grew up in India, immersed in music, Vedic tradition, the Sanskrit language, and yogic way of life. Today he is a teacher, Yoga philosopher, meditation instructor, Sanskrit expert, Sitar performer, and Kirtan singer. He brings his expertise and gifts to the world through retreats, public speaking, performances, webinars, one-on-one sessions, and recorded media. He travels around through Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Thailand, spreading his teachings. He has been featured in print, broadcast on radio and TV, and made appearances at many events such as the Toronto Yoga Conference, Montreal Chant Festival, Global Mala Festival, and Ananda Festival.

Sidrabene Retreat Centre is located in (North) Burlington, ON – County of Halton, just south of the majestic Niagara Escarpment, aprox 45 mins West of Toronto, and 50 mins north of the US Border. The tranquil Retreat Centre and Camp, boasts rolling fields, walking trails, a salt water swimming pool, snack shop/restrooms, an indoor community centre and camping is available on site. Bronte creek runs through the site, which adds to the peacefulness of the space.

Onsite parking is located on the grounds. If you are taking public transit, please consult the GO schedule here. From Union Station, downtown Toronto it is aprox 40 mins west to the Appleby Ln Go station in Burlington. The location is aprox 10-15 mins north on Appleby Ln by car. CAMPING: Imagine being lulled to sleep under the stars by the sound of gentle running water from the nearby creek after a day of practicing yoga, meditation and taking in an evening concert – bliss! Sidrabene has many private camp sites available in the heart of nature. The most coveted sites along the creek fill up quickly, and many of the sites are surrounded by trees. All camping areas are on a first come, first serve basis. There are more than enough spots to set up camp within the 70 acres, however arriving early is advised for those who wish to camp so as to have the first choice of the sites. Camping Checklist
